Yes, several flight schools provide training in RV-12 SLSA airplanes. A quick check shows Traverse City, MI is probably the closest to you. A list of several flight schools offering the RV-12 SLSA for training is at this link:

I am looking for transition training in an RV-12 in the Houston area. I am in the final stages of acquiring a very nice 2017 RV-12 with the Rotax 912 ULS and a Dynon Skyview touchscreen. If anyone knows a CFI in the Houston vicinity with access to an RV-12 I would really appreciate getting the contact information.
