I just completed my 250 hr oil change on my RV-7. The milestone got me thinking about how many miles I've flown in the past seventeen months since my first flight.

Assuming a very conservative 150mph average flight speed X 250 hours, I have flown about 37,500 miles. The circumference of the earth is only about 25,000 miles!

I'm already halfway through my second lap around!

P.S. Rosie just lapped me again! :D

From Rosie: Let's see here...21 May 2010...3311.1 hours...times 150mph... divided by 25,000 miles...roughly 19.86 laps...will pass 20 a couple of hours from now :)

Fun with math...

Looks like about a lap and a half of the earth in the '8' and 180 laps flying for a living.

Rosie needs a different scale

Rosie has been to the moon and back.

Well, since I live up here in Wisconsin, the circumference of the earth I need to travel is only 15,850nm. So at 175 hours doing ave. 130nm/hr, I have done 1.43 laps.
