Hi Doug et. al.

I have been watching the Flash thread with some interest, as I'm considering a panel upgrade to the G3X.

One unrelated thing that is bothering me though is the high cruise CHT in the photos. Most of the references I have suggest that CHTs below 400F are better for long cylinder life and reliability.

See here for one example.

I live in a climate similar to Flash (we are "temperature challenged" in the summer) and generally see cruise CHTs in the mid-300s. I work really hard to keep them under 400, even in the climb.

Not trying to pick, just wondering what the consensus is. Am I being too anal?

I'd suspect those pics were take just after climbing. Normal cruise temps around 2000' with it 100F on the ground is around 390-398 on Flash's #3.

I think they settled out about 380 at 6500 feet after we leveled of in the trip from Minneapolis to Kansas City.

OK, I feel better now.

If you guys don't mind, I may start another thread for some picky G3X questions that I haven't seen answered anywhere now that you've had some time with it...
