Need some quality control check on my work on Step 4 & 5 on page 32-06 regarding the flaperon torque arms. I installed them as per the plans, bolting the torque arms to he bearing brackets using the called out hardware (AN960-10 washers). Everything went well. After torquing to 25 inch pounds, there is a lot of play in the arm. The same is true when I attached the torque arm to the pushrod assembly. I double checked my hardware and everything is according to hoyle. Is this the way it's supposed to be?

This assembly is suppose to be "loose" so as to allow for smooth, binding free, control stick movement. Wait until the wings are on and pins are in to judge, then look at everything closely again. IMHO, you are fine.

Flaperon arms

What Larry says-- the flaperon system feels very sloppy until the wings are attached. In fact, you have to have some movement in order to line up the torque tube tongues with the slots in the flaperons during the "push to fit" wing attachment.
