I'm confused on Flap Positioning Systems for the RV-10.

Van's sells both:

Flap Positioning System:

and

The RV-10 Flap/Trim Control (FPS-Plus Reflex)
http://vansaircraft.com/cgi-bin/store.cgi?ident=1424104247-460-492&browse=airframe&product=reflex

Then there is also the Safety-Trim speed control

I guess my first question is do all of these work together, or are the first two mutually exclusive of each other?

Second question is I'm looking at the Advanced Flight Systems Quick panels and they say they include a Flap Controller with Positioning, so my assumption would be if I go that route, it would replace all of the above?

I have the FPS-Plus in my RV 7 and love it. It has worked flawlessly in the 500 hours the A/P has been flying and it is very configurable which also sets your elevator trim based on your flap position. The safety trim is just an add on.

They are competive products.

You want a product that not only positions the flaps, but controls its speed, prevents runaways, and limits movement to below a certain airpeed.

I believe the FPS product does all that.

I'm not familiar with what Rob is offering in his prebuilt panels. I would give home a call. Knowing Rob, I'm sure it's a quality solution.

Notice that you are mixing things a bit. Flaps and trim.
Basic kit has just a switch (hold down, flaps go down) for flaps. Or you can add a controller with pre- set positions.
For pitch trim, basic kit has a one speed motor, no runaway protection other than pilot pulling circuit breaker. You can add speed control, runaway protection with the add-ons. Some autopilots (Trio, I know) will give you trim speed control, or you can buy a module. I strongly recommend trim speed adjustment of some kind. The stock is about right for low speeds but too fast at cruise.
