good evening together,

today i wanted to bring the flap motor for installation into middle position. i connected it to my car battery, the motor makes nice motor noise and the rod is turning clockwise and counterclockwise but not lengthwise. is there a trick or is it just broken?

anybody had similar problems?

That sounds bad - if you hold the end so it can't spin it should move up (or down) unless it is at the end of its travel. Try holding the end and hooking up the power both ways. One way should make it get longer (or shorter)!

now it works, it was my fault. sometimes i wonder how i came so far... :) thank you for the tipp!
 
NP - that flap motor thingy is a bit weird. It will safely spin at either end, but I bet if it got "stuck" in the middle of its travel it might pull pretty hard before (or if) the motor spun freely. I'm trying to figure out how to set up flap position sensor and maybe an up-limit switch around it, so your posting was at a good time for me. Glad I could help.
