After ten years and some 3800 logged building hours, my RV 8 flew today. Barry Weber, an experienced test pilot at the controls. The flight generally went very well. The airframe flew essentially hands off. The engine was a little rough at lower RPM's and I have some work to do to get the EFIS parameters set correctly.

Flight was about an hour. I was in an RV7 chase plane and got some good photos.

Looks like several days work to get through all the squawks. However, it did fly and flew well. I am pumped.

Thank you to everyone on this forum. I would have never gotten here without you.

Congratulations Michael don't worry too much about the minor issues - at least now they are related to flying and not building:) I had quite a few but slowly but surely they get ticked off - then the real FUN starts and after 2+ years (175 hrs) my grin is as big as ever :D - Enjoy the fruits!
