August 21st was the one year anniversary of the first flight of 412DR. What a year, what a great airplane. I fell short of my personal goal of 75 hours total Hobbs time for the first year, but with yesterday's 2 hour flight I now have 60.5 hours. I am now ready to do some traveling. This is what I have dreamed of since I was 8 years old. Whenever I flew rental steam gauge C172's I never used the autopilot, never felt the need. But, the Dynon autopilot is so easy and accurate, I use it all the time. Simple mode is all I need. Planning some trips in the next few weeks and hoping to get that Hobbs meter spinning. All you guys building -12s the payoff is spectacular. Such a great flying plane that is a good cross country machine too. Who'd a thunk 100 HP could make a 120 knots, at 4.5 gph . I have seen 155 knots ground speed, with a 30 knot tailwind:). Laissez le bon temps roulette!
