I am preparing to install a single MR-16 landing/recognition light in each wing tip. Van's has the two bulb installation kit for the RV-8 but this is not what I need. Another source, who makes a single light installation kit, didn't come through with the goods. Therefore, I am going to make the installation myself. I searched on the web for spring screws to use to adjust the bulbs but I was not able to find anything close to what is needed for the installation.
Is there another name for the spring and screw combination? If there is, what nomenclature should I use to search for the needed thin spring and long screw?
Has anybody else fabricated their own single tip light installation on the -8? If so, please direct me to a source for the hardware?
