hi all,
although i received a completed cowl ,ready to paint, with my kit i have added nacas, narrowed the cowl by 1 1/2'' , added a fiberglass bubble for clearance etc. all my work has been with west system epoxy. whenever i glassed cloth in i ground the finished gel coat back an inch or so to get a good bond. any filling i have done has been either with epoxy/ flox or with micro bubbles. now comes the time for shaping , filling the areas i have remodeled. i plan to fill with epoxy and micro bubbles but after filling and sanding what do i coat the existing gel coat and my work with? i had figured i would sand the gel coat along with my fiberglass work and then apply a few epoxy coats on the whole cowl. is this right? also, on this site i have read about sherwin williams ''spread and spray'' . would it be an alternative to use this instead of epoxy?
any help on this last phase would be appreciated.
