I am working on the elevator and HS end caps and need to know what type of fiberglass/filler etc is most commonly used for the ends?

Also do most people fill in the gap between the cover and the aluminum?

Thanks in advance!

Well

West systems epoxy seems to be the most popular from Aircraft Spruce. The 1 gallon kit is enough to do two airplanes (I shared mine with my buddy).

As for filler the Rage edge gold is the premo stuff..Get a gallon can and it will probably do 4 airplanes but its too expensive to buy in small quantities.

Filling the gaps is personal choice..I did but its a lot more work..Looks nice though. If you choose to do this I would glass over the gap with that really fine "dressing tissue" (thats what we called it in the UK) its the thinnest fiberglass mat you can get. This adds strength and will prevent the filler cracking.
