Well, after 517.1 hours of flight time, I think it's time to fix the intersection fairings on my long legged -4 before the fly-in season.

I have a few questions though...

Questions 1: The main fairings on the gear legs are in good shape but the weld from the hose clamp to the holding straps has broken. I simply loosened the clamp and then put it over the holding strap and tightened it back down. Do you think it is worth cutting these off and putting new ones on? I do NOT have wooden reinforcements on the gear legs and do have a shimmy with certain tire pressures.

Question 2: How well do the Fairing Etc. upper intersection fairings fit? I will be putting new style (newer than mine) Sam James PR wheel pants on so I will have to break out the fiberglass to blend those in anyway. Is buying the upper intersection fairings from Fairings Etc even worth it since I'll be plying and sanding fiberglass anyway?

Any pointers appreciated.
