Quick question for those builders who are done with their canopy fiberglass work. The plans indicate you should allow the epoxy to gel on Ply 1 before placing Ply 2. However, they do not indicate whether you should let each subsequent ply gel before placing the next one (i.e. should I let Ply 2 gel before placing Ply 3, etc.). And do you do the same for the center section?

Thanks

Fiberglassing

You can put them on as soon as you want to. Smooth as you go to save work later.

I applied all my plys at once. Letting the first gel will help support the rest and keep things from sliding around. It may also help with resin seeping through some. You don't need to let each ply gel up.

Cover that instrument panel!

I agree with above. One other tip. Cover the top of the instrument panel THOROUGHLY with tape and paper, so no epoxy can run down the inside. Don't ask how I know this:eek:

I have to remove my panel and get the epoxy "run" off the surface, sand and repaint. Starting that today.
