The large cutouts in to F-821-1 skin (forward top skin) are not marked with part numbers, and a QUICK scan of the instructions don't mention what to do with them other than "remove..." (This is the new, -1 RV-8 fuselage that was released almost two years ago at Oshkosh.)

The cutouts are where the forward baggage door, and the windscreen will be.


Are these pieces scrap? i.e. can I use them to fabricate other items?

F821-1 cutouts

Yes, the baggage door blank is scrap.

I used it to make 2no. 8-1/2 x 6-1/2 side access panels to the instrument panel. It provided the 2 cover plates & 1 backing plate - already part rolled to shape.

Thanks for asking Bill. I have not gotten it fitted yet, should be around mid-June though. I've had a few setbacks due to work, etc (excuses, excuses). Going on vacation for two weeks this Thursday, that's not going to help any either!
