Hi all,
Before I make something up...can someone point me to the drawing that shows the hole positions for the Vertical Stab side of the F812B control stop. Drawing 78 shows the 'center' hole postion for the stab, but I have NO holes to match in the F812B....and I cant find the drawing that shows them.

Any help would be appreciated....

Chris

chris,

I didn't found the dwg 78 in my plans, help me to understand a little more.

Hi Luca,
Drawing 78 is in the new -1 fuselage drawing set. Basically, the f812 stop is predrilled where it attaches to the aft deck, but it is not drilled in the vertical where the vertical stabilizer touches it. The new plans call out using the hole in the f812B to center the vertical stabilizer onto the fuselage... but the plans do not show the vertical dimension of the hole in the 812... I could play around with positioning the stab so that the bottom is parallel to my longerons...but, is it supposed to be? I figure I just cant 'see' the dimension somewhere on 'some' drawing.

Ok,

I hope to have understood.

F812 is the bulkhead, F812b is the elevator control stop.

If the problem is the positioning of the vertical stabilizer, it MUST be
- centered
- squared
& aligned with the fuselage and horiz. stab.

You'll find a dwg (41 in pre match-holes fuse) that describe this procedure.

After this you'll find the right match hole (by F812B) for the vertical stabilazer

Hope this help

Thanks Luca,
Wish I had a nice digital level like that!....I took some measurements from drawing 78 of the aft view of the stabilizer, and I right now, I measure the holes on F812B as 7/16 from the bottom edge... and 1.1875 hoizontally to each bolt hole from the vertical centerline. I'd post a pic here...but I dont know how to include it directly in the posting...(really wish I could)

Nothing drilled yet...Im going to call Vans in 1 hour if no joy here.
