Any opinions on removing excess material from these very large rudder stops?
There are several posts about the plans (DWG 27A) being wrong, so I decided to make a thin cardboard template of the rudder stop. Despite making it just a bit larger than the plans, the template still allowed too much deflection. After a couple of days, this is what I came up with. The two photos are taken from my build log. The black line roughly represents the dimensions as indicated in the plans.
Any opinions on removing excess material from the stop, outboard of the broken black line? (The small hatched area is where the rudder contacts the stop.) BTW, the internal delrin stop is not being considered.
