I am about to dimpling of the f-776 center bottom skin for the center section. The plans don't say, but I was wondering if I should leave the hole in F-776 that I drilled and plan on machine countersinking the F-772 skin which seems to overlap the F-776. My thought was if I dimple both skins then I need to machine countersink the bottoms of the 704 bulkheads. Any thoughts out there on this????

Dimple the F-704 bottom flange

Don,

The bottom flange of the F-704 is .040 thick and it can be dimpled easily. Better to dimple then countersink. I did it this way and it works fine. If you are building an RV-7A note the forward F-704/772/776 outboard skin rivet note on the drawing calling out double flush rivets.

F-704 bottom flange

I saw the note for the double flush rivets and am thinking it is to make room for the landing gear. This was another question I had, what do they mean by a double flush rivet? first time I saw this term. Thanks for your help Paul.
