Hi all,

I just bought a Duracell CR2 (3 volt) battery for my ACK E-04 ELT. It came in a two-pack and lasts ten years, so I don't think I'll be using the second one anytime soon (hope I didn't just jinx myself).

They're only a couple of bucks but I hate to see it go to waste so it's free to whoever needs it. I'm in the SF bay area. If anyone wants it, send me a direct message.

Best,
Harry

LOL

I literally just received two, bought for the same purpose, yesterday. :)

I would be leery of using Duracell batteries for a 10 year application.

I would check them visually every year at annual condition inspection,

Since Duracell moved across the pond, my experience is that they tend to leak long before they lose their voltage. Leakage will destroy whatever device they're supporting.

Good point. I recommend checking the battery for the ACK ELT Audio Alert and RCPI every year. Last year I installed a Panasonic CR2 Industrial Lithium instead of the Duracell. After a year it had leaked and started corroding the battery contacts of the audio alert. Glad I caught it early enough to avoid any serious damage. IMG_8463.jpeg
