First off, I must admit to being somewhat challenged regarding engine construction, operations and performance. However, I do want to do a thorough engine data gathering drill on my 3rd flight - after exploring limited handling qualities regimes on the first two flights.
Vans chapter 15 flight test discussion just addressesgeneric engine cooling checks. Other documents just say to monitor and record oil pressure, oil temps, fuel pressure and CHTs from 55 to 75 percent rpm.
Does anyone have a systematic approach to doing so? What about throttle and mixture considerations?
