In their overhaul manuals, Lycoming suggests using "Parker Thread Lube" on the cylinder hold-down stud threads. I can't find that product anywhere. What is the best substitute for Parker Thread Lube these days? - Thanks

Mike Busch covered this in a recent webinar. An alternative (and in my OH manual that probably isn't up to date) is to mix 90% SAE 50 weight engine oil with 10% STP engine additive. He also suggested CamGuard as an acceptable alternative.

All nuts must be new.

Also, if you need a cylinder base hold-down plate, Flyboy Accessories has the best price I have found (vs ~$1000 for the Lycoming brand).
