With winter just around the corner I am thinking of installing a oil pan heater on my Lyc IO540. I would appreciate any thoughts and pics if available on the routing of the ac power cord for easy access. On my RV6 the oil dipstick tube was outside the plenum and it was easy to route the cord up the dipstick tube to the oil filler door but on the 540 the dipstick tube is inside the plenum area. It seems pretty warm inside the plenum area to have the power cord attached to the oil dipstick? Thanks a lot for the help!

I've had my power cord lying nest to the dipstick for 6 years now, going through the baffling to the underside of the oil pan. Works well and no problems so far.

Best,

Mine is one of those non regulated orange stick on heaters found all over the web for $30. The power cord is secured to the bottom cross tube on the Rocket engine mount with the plug accessed through the cowl exit. Works great, and I'd do it exactly the same way again.
