I have searched the forum and could not find a discussion on the subject.
Surely someone else has run into this problem.
Engine O-320-D2G with Bendix RSA 5AD1 servo and a Vans
VA-182 contol cable bracket between servo and sump.
All the cables I have tried are too long. When I put them through the
hole in the bracket, where the two lock nuts hold it on the engine bracket,
the end of the rod is way pass the control arm on the servo.
If I put on a rod end and bolt it to the, say mixture arm, the treads on the
outer cable are nowhere near the bracket and if I go ahead and pull the
mixture knob out, I have almost two inches of shaft showing at the panel.
Looks like I have the engine leaned way back.
Throttle and Prop control are the same way. If I didn't know better, you
would think the panel was mounted too close to the firewall.
Any direction would be greatly appreciated.
There has to be something I am too dumb to know about airplane
cables to make this work.
Your help appreciated.
