Just an idea for anyone that needs to assemble an engine and doesn't have access to or doesn't want to shell out $300 for a commercially available unit, I used one of these wooded wire spools acquired from the local power company at no cost. Must be free of wood rot. This one was fairly new and under covered storage.

A little trimming to size and it's serving fine. Only drawback I see, which hasn't been a problem for me, are casters.

Now, I'll need to beg, borrow, steal or rent a hoist which doesn't seem to be available in this state!
