My empennage fairing doesn't lay smooth against the verticle stab. I'm planning to trim back the edge an inch or so and lay up a new edge that will look better. Judging from the nice fairings I've seen many have done this. Any hints from you fiberglass geniuses. Thanks, John

Nice work

Bruce and AJ, thanks for your excellent links. Nice work on the fairings. Details like that make for a beautiful plane.

Try using a heat gun to soften the fiberglass to get it to lay down before you start on any modifications.

Heat

Thanks Bill. I think I tried the heat gun. (It's been 3 or 4 years since I mounted the fairing with the thought that I'd get back to it.) I'm well into my second condition inspection, and still have many little improvements and fixes to get done before 50JP is "right". Trouble is the finish line keeps moving. John
