Can anyone direct me to instructions and drawings for the horizontal and vertical stab nut plates for the fairing? I am finishing a previously started RV8 empennage and the nut plates were not installed and the plans do not reference them except to leave the required skin holes unriveted.

The platenuts are K1000-06 (#6 screws).

Use a #27 drill to open up the hole to accept a #6 screw. Then use a platenut drill jig to drill the holes for the "ears". Use AN426-AD3-3.5 ~ 4 rivets to secure the platenuts to the hstab & vstab.

On the RV-7 the nutplate call-outs are on DWG 44. Should be in about that neighborhood in the RV-8 plans.
