I read back thru the ELT wiring threads and got more confused. My buzzer has a black and red wire coming from it, with a ground wire on the black. Instructions say to connect the black and red wires from the ELT to the black and red from the buzzer. Problem is, there is only a BLUE and Red wire coming from the ELT plug.
Are we supposed to pull that plug apart and hook in the ELT power wire and make up a black wire? The assemble manual don't seem to require one to do that.

You did not say which ELT unit you have but if your ELT is the ACK E-04, I just installed mine a few weeks ago. Below are a few links to my builder Blog entries covering the ELT instillation.

[/IMG]Well the problem is over, I THOUGHT there was no black wire, but as Joe Gores pointed out from my photo, it was there all along (or someone put it in there last night when I was asleep, not sure)

Another ELT question: Mine came with a short cable, P/N 611-0019. I see no reference to it in the assembly instructions, but the CD that came with the ELT indicates to me that it should be installed from the ELT to the phone wire going to the panel.
So do we use it or not?
