I was planning on installing my elt without a panel mounted switch. I picked up a 121.5 elt cheap without the switch or wire. Does anyone know if the requirement for certified aircraft installations, which require a panel mounted switch for all new installations, applies to the experimental category?

There have been a couple posts on here maintaining that you need the whole package to make an approved installation. I didn't want to agree, but they left me no choice.

I should have done a search. I do see that experimentals have the same requirements imposed as certified. Now to invest $50 bucks for a switch and some wire
