I'm working on my wing kit, but am starting to think about the electrical system. Are there advantages going with a 24 v system, vs 12 v. system? I see that alot of components are availabe in 12 and 24 v; i.e. heated pitot tube.

If I did go with a 24 v system, and have a 12 v component, can it be used.

Already being discussed here.

To use a 12V part with a 24V system, you'd have to get a regulator to bring the 24V down to 12V... So maybe a better answer is 'no'.

Okay, so you need a regulator to bring the voltage down. Adds complexity, something else to break. But definitely not a "NO".
