Can anyone suggest books, videos or anything else that would help me to learn the skills needed to wire my RV-10? I'm just starting the wings and want to begin preparing now....

'Lectric Bob...

The BEST money and time I ever spent on aircraft electrical is:

http://www.aeroelectric.com/

Great web site, and lots of information.

Buy the book. Only $20 and it is in the 12th edition.

If you get a chance to hear him talk, that is really worth it.

EAA Videos

David,

I strongly recommend Marc's website info AND products, his docs are also very helpful even if you don't use his products.

You'll also find a bunch of hints and tips on the EAA website and especially here.

Good luck

I ditto both Marc and the AeroElectric book. The AeroElectric book has a lot of great information on the basics of wiring, loads, switches, etc. He also has a lot of designs that you can pick from and explains several scenarios that are useful in designing your setup.

Personally I use the VP-X. Marc is a great guy to talk to and also has a lot of great ideas as well. He's good with answering Email and his forum at Sun n' Fun was great on things that you need to think about with modern panels and our increasingly electric airplanes.

AeroElectric Connection and more!

David,
I concur with the others about the value of Bob Nuckolls AEROELECTRIC CONNECTION book. Another recommendation is FAA AC43.13-1B, which can be downloaded for free. It's done chapter by chapter, as the entire document is over 400 pages. You could download just the electrical portion. I suggest getting the entire thing, as it's LOADED with good info. See

I've also got PDF versions of the FAA study books for aircraft mechanics. They have useful info to.I sent you a private message regarding sending those to you.
