Got a new RA servo to replace the manual. Have the OP drawings but it's not clear how or if the slide tube is supported other then hanging on the servo. In the manual arrangement it rides in a friction block the also serves as a guide. No room for that guide and the servo in the mount.
If there is no other guide and it just hangs on the servo, then I it would have tension from the bias springs wearing on the servo.
Someone shine some light?
EDIT: looked at the drawings again and see the slide tube connecting directly but it still looks like there is or should be a bushing guide.
