A recent thread over on the Matronics RV-10 list revealed a number of flyers had expereinced failure of their EGT probes (specifically those supplied by GRT). I had a probe failure in the first 15 hours of operation.

I was wondering what the collective body of thought was on MTBF of EGT(and CHT) probes and whether there was concensus on reliable alternatives.
