As I was dimpling aft edges of the leading edge on my left wing, it occured to me that maybe I should have edge rolled it first so that the butt joint with the main skins would sit flush with each other better. I know that Van's recommends using the edge former/bender on lap joints (as where the outboard main skins overlap the inboard main skins), but is there any advantage/disadvantage to using them for butted joints, or is it simply unnecessary? Any thoughts before I get to dimpling my other leading edge?

Thanks,
Steve
