Couple of photos of an EDC-10A retrofit in the RV-4 tail.

There is sufficient room under the V-stab to install an adjustable platform. Area is magnetically "quiet," even when the elevator is moved. Nutzerts accept the #6 brass hardware and are more easily installed than plate nuts. Insufficient room to use an installation tool, but you can substitute two appropriately sized wrenches. Use caution not to drill through the longerons when selecting the location for the platform. There is sufficient room under the fairing to run the harness over the top of the forward spar assembly. OAT probe mounted under the right horizontal stabilizer and wiring harness transitions through Adel clamp attached to aft bulkhead. A small electronic level will fit under the vertical tail and can be used to align the EDC-10 with the EFIS axis in the cockpit. Use sufficient chafe protection, self-locking hardware (brass nylock nuts are available on-line) and cable support to preclude any interference with flight controls. In the right hand view, you can see a zip tie whose purpose is to retain the plug in the event it becomes disconnected.
