I have an ECI Engine built by Americas Engines in my RV8, Richard Fowler. I have installed many of his engines. All good. Three year warranty too!! Don't build it your self. Get him to build it and you get the warranty.
 
ECI Engines

I have an ECI engine built by the guys at Mattituck in NY. I attended the assembly and watched, took pictures and listened to John Haas explain every step of the process as he assembled the engine. The only hitch came when the pushrods were being installed. A few of them were off slightly in length. If you were assembling you would have to stop what you were doing and reorder/exchange any pushrods that were not the correct length. John simply went to their parts guy and got the correct ones. Back in business!! Good luck with your decision.

I have an O-320 by Richard @ America's Aircraft Engines in Tulsa. I went to the shop and helped with the build. It is working great for me in my RV-9A. They ran it on the stand for me to begin break in, too.
