339A

While searching through the old Yahoo Groups VAF Archives, I came across a thread I posted, while still building back in 2002. A lot has changed since then and we have flown over a hundred thousand miles in 339A. As the kids are out searching for Easter eggs today, this should give the builders out there something to look for....

The difference between men and women while building an airplane.

The other night while doing the inventory on my newly arrived wing
kit, I realized how different minds could be. My wife and I were
looking at the drawings, sheet 10 in particular, when the wife
says "Oh that looks like an Easter egg". So I say, "What looks like
an Easter egg"? She points to the 3 dimensional view of the wing
where the lightening hole in the spar looks through to a nose rib
flange. All I see is a hole looking at a flange and the hole is
round. She says "Can't you see the Easter egg"? "No" I say.
Well now I have to find the Easter egg. It's like staring at one of
those pictures where if you cross your eyes long enough the picture
appears. After enough staring I finally found the Easter egg and now
every time I look at it I see the stupid egg!! Go figure. Gone from
an Engineering mind to an artistic one.

Happy Easter and good luck finding the eggs.

Neat post!

I'll never be able to see it any other way now...
