After searching on VAF and the EarthX website, I could never find the actual dimensions of the mounting holes for the EarthX battery boxes. I just received mine, so I'll post the data here for others that may need it.
Model: BB-MU "Multi Use Battery Box for E case or PC680"
There are 6 holes in the aluminum mounting box, arranged in the same manner as the RV-7 "standard" firewall-mounted battery box, i.e. two vertical rows of 3 holes each. I don't know if the dimensions are the same, though, so I'll just put them here for reference:
The two vertical rows are spaced 8" apart. The top holes are 2" from the middle hole. The bottom hole is 2 5/16" down from the middle hole.
I'll even try to do a little ASCII drawing to depict it:
O <--- 8" ---> O
2"
O <--- 8" ---> O
2 5/16"
O <--- 8" ---> O
Hopefully that's helpful to someone else deciding what battery box to order.
Cheers,
