I need to know the size of the "Dynon Heated Pitot Tube" tubes (both airspeed and AOA) and I assume they are Aluminum? I'm going with heated Dynon pitot but have not yet purchased it.

Here is where I stand:

1. I decided to go with 1/4" OD aluminum tube in the wing for both airspeed and AOA. Cessna safe.

2. I'm using Clear Tygothane Polyurethane (1/8" ID, 1/4" OD) from wing to instruments.

3. I'll use McMasters for compression fittings to connect stuff. 1/4" to ?? for Dynon Pitot and 1/4" to 1/8 NPT for Poly tube.

Comments are always welcome!

Thanx!

Gretz pitot mount kit (thread hijack)

Can I briefly hijack this thread to ask is the Gretz pitot mount kit made of steel or aluminium? (or even aluminum ;) )

Lighter? Stronger!

Aluminium - Half the weight of aluminum. When used in the RV-9, you can install a pair of 400hp Chevrolet V8 S234X engines as pushers to achieve a 210 knot cruise. Required TE Interface and coupling. See Internet video of Turbo Encabulator for installation information.

Note: At $1300/oz it may be cost prohibitive for some builders.

The aluminum tubes coming out of my Dynon pitot are 3/16".
The Safeair kit has the correct connector.
Avery has these here.
