Happy New Year! Dynon has switched our source of engine pressure sensors to solid-state Kavlico sensors. Kavlico is a US company that has been making high quality sensors for over 50 years, and is well known in the aviation industry.

We are selling these solid-state sensors individually, and they are now included standard in our engine sensor kits. We have also optimized the sensor ranges to better match engine pressure ranges for greater resolution and accuracy. (The older sensors and kits are still available if needed.)

Our new pressure sensors are priced at $85, which is (as usual) a significant discount over the price that anyone else sells them for.

These new solid-state sensors require different wiring from the older VDO sensors, with a third wire needed for 5-volt power.

The new Kavlico Pressure Sensors:
NOTES:
* All sensors are threaded 1/8-27 NPT.
* All sensors may be used for any liquid.
* The following description shows the most common usage.

PART # ..........PRICE......... DESCRIPTION
101715-000 ......$85................. 5 PSI Gravity Fed Fuel
101690-000 .....$85................ 15 PSI Carbureted Fuel
101716-000 ......$85................ 50 PSI Fuel Injected Fuel
101693-000 .....$85................ 150 PSI Oil

Robert,

Any idea when the "locked settings" file will be available thru Van's for installation in the RV-12? Am under the impression that Dynon generates this file and then Van's distributes the file??

Robert at Dynon

And will these prices remain stable until the settings are unlocked for the RV12?

Great change Dynon! We've got the Kavlico's on the G3X, and they are outstanding...glad to see you guys going the same way.

Good questions!

Wire connection and setup instructions are available on our Website documentation page:

Look for "Addendum for Kavlico Sensors."

Concerning the prices, we don't plan on increasing them anytime soon. That's just how we price things.

For the RV-12 FlightDEK-D180 setup, Vans will have to release a new version of the firmware if you want to use the Kavlico. I'm not sure of their time frame for that; they're pretty busy. For RV-12 SkyView setup, it will ship with the needed files.
