For anyone updating from a D10, D120, or D180 to a SkyView system, Dynon will shortly have an upgrade tool to help you move the fuel cal from the older system to the SkyView. This will prevent you from having to re-do your calibration, which we know can be time consuming.

If you are in this situation, you can send us a backup of your D10, D120, or D180 and we'll put it in the queue to get run. This is an internal tool for us to run, not something you download off our site. Send your backups to support (at) dynonavionics.com

It may be a few days before we can run it, but it should save people some time as they upgrade.

That's really great news, but now...

...if you guys can preload everything if a given airplane/engine combo is given, like an RV-10 and IO-540/260HP engine, it'd be great to get a Skyview with all engine parameters and fuel gauges preset for that airplane.

Could that possibly happen? I know of one EFIS distributor in Socal who does that.

Best,

We do have different engine setups on our website. Download them to a USB memory stick, and load them in. We have LyCons, Rotax, and Jaibru engines already. It's not "shipping" a unit preconfigured, but it's only a few minutes work, and SkyView comes with a 4GB memory stick as part of your purchase. You can then tweak these setups to your exact needs.

Beyond that, it's easy for a user to export their settings and share them with us, so we hope as more people get SkyView up and running, there will be some creative setups that they will share with us and we can post them.

It's impossible to preload a fuel cal. Every plane is different. The whole reason we support calibration is to get an accurate read on your specific plane. Most of our customers want a fuel gauge that is more accurate than the "guess-o-meter" in a Cessna ;)
