If it requires the 25 pin connector, does anyone has one we can rent or borrow?

Any way you can get to pin 10 on the 25 pin connector connected to the D-100 in the plane?
Connect that to pin 2 on a female DB9 connector and any ground in plane to pin 5 on the DB9 connector and you should be good to go. DB25 pin 22 to DB9 pin 3 may be needed too if you use the Dynon support program.

Connect the DB9 connector to a DB9 serial to USB adapter (or directly to a DB9 connector on an old laptop or computer).

If you want to connect to it out of the plane you'll have to supply +12V to pin 1 and ground on pin 3 and 9 on the DB25 connector. (DB25 pin 9 to DB9 pin 5)

Actually if you have internal battery in the D-100 all you'd need is:
DB25-9 to DB9-5
DB25-10 to DB9-2
DB25-22 to DB9-3
Note that this is not a standard DB25 to DB9 serial cable.
