Dynon D180 sends audio alerts to my Xcom radio/intercom. Is there a way to adjust the volume down for the alerts (autopilot disengage)?

I would say yes - -

While building the 12, they had us go thru a setup of vol(s). on rear of unit.

EDIT : We had to adjust on the 'mother board'. Not sure how others are set up.

Did you install?

Did you install the D180 and audio? If so, and you have a HS34 and/AP74, you could refer to page 4-11 of the install manual...a potentiometer .

You might want to think about an audio taper pot rather than linear taper. It?ll probably be less touchy to adjust.

I had the same issue with a D6. I cut the wire to the audio panel (intercom), used alligator clips to insert a series resistor. Tried 1K, 3K, 5K ohms, etc., until the volume was about right. Soldered the correct resistor in series, added a stiff insulated piece of wire plus shrink wrap for support.
