Doing circuit work yesterday and after about 20 minutes received a "temperature out of spec" warning on the D-100. OAT was about 101 deg (joys of OK in August) but the Dynon spec shows good to 122F. I wondered if it heats up behind the panel as the aircraft is not yet painted so the sun is beating down on the top skin. Unit seemed to keep on working but I called it a day.
Has anyone else seen this? The unit has been rock solid for 120 hours so I am hoping this is just a function of the heatwave we have been experiencing this year.
Thanks

This does mean it's very hot behind the panel, and all your avionics are cooking. We'd recommend some ventilation for your panel to keep everything a bit cooler.

The warning is just that- we're warning you that we are now so hot that our accuracy is less than normal, but you're far from damaging the unit or seeing a totally unreliable attitude.
