Emergency Glide is activated when a pilot presses and holds the nearest (NRST) button. This immediately engages the autopilot at a pre-programmed best-glide speed. Simultaneously, SkyView HDX will locate the nearest airport within gliding distance, considering both wind and terrain. If the system finds a suitable airport, SkyView HDX will command the autopilot to navigate the aircraft to the airport immediately. At the same time, the airport identifier is loaded into the Com radio, making all available Com radio frequencies for that airport available at the touch of a button using Dynon’s unique airport-centric user interface. As the aircraft arrives at the airport, the autopilot initiates a banked turn to circle the airport while alerting the pilot to take control of the aircraft.
The new Emergency Glide feature simplifies critical decisions and actions during an emergency, providing pilots with the tools they need to focus on flying the aircraft to a safe landing.
The OLED-equipped SV-COM-PANEL features the same groundbreaking user interface that Dynon pioneered with the original product. By integrating deeply with SkyView and Advanced avionics systems, the COM Radio tunes frequencies by airport and station type - rather than by spinning in a number - at the touch of a button. Once an airport is selected via the avionics screen or the SV-COM-PANEL directly, the pilot can press dedicated one-touch buttons on the Control Panel to instantly tune Tower/CTAF, Ground, ATIS/AWOX/Weather, and ATC Approach/Departure frequencies. Pilots can also send frequencies over from their SkyView or AF-5000/6000 series airport information pages, or directly using the panel’s dual-concentric knobs.
The new OLED Com Radio Control Panel is a drop-in replacement for the sunsetting legacy version, with identical panel cut-outs and electrical connections. It is compatible with all Dynon SkyView and Advanced Flight Systems AF-5000/6000 series avionics systems.

Experimental Dynon D30 Touchscreen Electronic Flight Display
The Dynon D30 is now in stock and available for experimental and light sport aircraft owners. The D30 is designed to serve as a backup set of flight instruments in SkyView HDX and Advanced AF-5000/6000 series systems.
The D30 features a large, 4”, sunlight readable, high resolution touchscreen display. The display provides pilots with critical backup flight information, including attitude, airspeed, altitude, vertical speed, turn rate, and slip/skid indications.
An integrated backup battery provides up to 5 hours of runtime in the event of aircraft power failure, giving pilots confidence that they have access to critical flight information when it is needed most.
Compact at only 3.7” deep, the D30 mounts in a slightly modified 3-⅛” instrument hole via a docking ring mounting bracket. The bracket allows for one-screw installation and removal of the instrument.

Safety-Enhancing Emergency Glide Feature for SkyView HDX and AF-5000/6000 Systems
Dynon introduces a potentially life-saving feature in its upcoming SkyView HDX Software version 17.1 and an upcoming software version for Advanced Flight Systems AF-5000/6000 series avionics. The OLED display features an “inverted” white on black display color scheme compared to its predecessor, which both complements the SV-COM-PANEL’s design and improves readability.

Production Update on 12" SkyView HDX Display
Following its announcement in April, Dynon is pleased to report that the highly anticipated 12" SkyView HDX display has begun shipping. Due to high demand, there is currently a substantial backlog.
