Flying back into 52F last week after a short trip with just over 130 hours on the tach I thought about the thread in the forums about dynamic balancing. I felt that my engine/prop combo was running pretty smooth but since Walt Aronow who owns ExpAircraft and is a fellow RVator who happens to be based at our field I wanted to go ahead and have it checked. I gave him a call and scheduled to take the -8 to him. Two days later I arrived and he hooked up his magic machine and walked me through the process. Turns out my engine and prop were well within the acceptable range so no weights were required. As always Walt was very professional and I will be taking our Cessna 180 to him in the near future to see where that engine/prop combination falls in the balancing act.
