People out there are probably already doing this; but, I thought I might mention it for the benefit of the general "population" -
If you make a "dummy" FW (3/4 ply or ?) when jigging up the fuselage, and then save it until the cowling is mounted, you can use it as a mount for the cowl so as to work on it in a more ergonomic way.
The pic shown is a bit more involved than most, but you get the idea. If you mount the dummy FW onto a rotating "fixture" of some sort, any fiberglassing, sanding, or finish work can done with the cowl orientated to a more favorable position than when it is installed on the airframe, or on a work table or saw horses.
