If I'm traveling solo I don't need all of the luggage space in my RV-7, and I wish there was a shelf to more easily reach essentials. I found that a large, rectangular milk crate fits perfectly on the floor of an RV-7/6/9. If you place it upside-down, it provides a very light way of installing a temporary shelf. Here is a picture of mine installed (sorry, my O2 tank is in the way).
