I just ordered my finish kit, and did finally choose an engine...O-320. :D

I was working on fuel line routing last night, and noticed on the plans this little Facet fuel pump...

It says "if required; not provided with kit". How do I know if I need one?

lift/boost

this is a lift/boost pump, mounted as low as possible to push fuel to the mechanical pump. its a low wing thing.:) fi have that squirrel nest just fwd of the selector. you may want to get the 90 fitting as bending the last 90 before the pump has proven difficult for some.http://www.aircraftspruce.com/pdf/2008Individual/Cat08258.pdf i did it without it but i have one in the drawer.
pn 04 05800 a whopping 4.95

Good advice, buy the fitting!

buy banjo fittings also

I agree an getting the fitting, also if you have not yet piped up the fuel selector valve I would also suggest you consider banjo fitting to the valve and bulkhead fittings for the lines that go from the valve to the tanks. Matt Burch's blog has good pictures of this.
If you decide to to go the builder route get an extra 20ft of the aluminum fuel pipe as you will make many pieces before you get it right (see my pictures for the stuff I threw away) :)
Another thing to consider is if you go for the Andair gascolator rather than the Van's it does not connect to the fuel pump per the plans and requires different fittings and a new bracket.
