Tried a search for this but no luck.

I purchased the 24/24 firewall ground block from B & C Specialties. I have mounted it to my firewall. Has anyone had a problem with corrosion from the firewall grounding block because of dissimilar metals? If you did, how did you solve the problem?

Thanks,

My galvanic corrosion chart shows stainless steel and brass about 3 metals away from each other, so there shouldn't be much problem. I've been flying since 2008 with no issues. I do however, live in the desert.

Best,

Remedy for possible dissimilar metals

Use a Conductive heatsink compound (usually carried by
RADIO SHACK) between the firewall and the plate. Then measure the ground for less than or equal to .003 ohms

No worries with the dissimilar materials in this case, unless you expect it to be wet a lot of the time. Galvanic corrosion won't happen without an electrolyte, which is usually water.
