As I fly around, I'm always on the lookout for unregistered airstrips that might be utilized in an emergency. Today, for example, I flew over the USMC Mountain Warfare School (38.36 N, 119.51W), which has a very nice 1000-foot paved runway with a 500-foot overrun area. Not on my database but it would be nice to know that it's there, should I have need of an emergency landing spot.

I put these things into the user database, so they are always there, but have not been able to figure out how to get them to display on the screen all the time. By using the NRST button, one can get the nearest 15 user points to display, but I am wondering if there is a trick that would get them to display all the time. I've found nothing in the Garmin instructions.

Thanks for any help.

It has been a while since I did it, but I hit one button(maybe "enter")while flying then dropped a pin. When I landed then went back and named the user defined waypoint. They always show up now.
