After dimpling the elevator trim inspection cover I would sure appreciate any advice on dimpling my wing inspection covers. The elevator cover deformed some due to the many holes and dimples. It doesn't lay as flat as I would like it to. I am thinking about partially machine countersinking the wing inspection covers and finishing with the dimple tool to stop some the the deforming.

Thanks

This may be counter-intuitive but you get distortion when your dimpling pressure is too low.

The best way to dimple is with the C-frame dimpler, and you can get crisp dimples with minimum distortion.

I dimpled all of my access plates with no problems this way.

Thanks Vern,
I can't remember for sure but I probably used the dimpling frame as there would have no need to use the pneumatic squeeser. I may have used it if it was laying there with the right tools in it though.
